Srinagar, Jan 25: The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Tuesday directed the government to permit the firm, Petro Star, to bring its product Petro Star Horticulture Mineral Oil (HMO) in the valley for sale and distribution.
The court directed the government authorities to permit the Petro Star to bring its product Petro Star HMO in the valley for sale and distribution unless refusal of registration of such product has been notified in the Official Gazette.
In this connection, the court of Justice M.A Chowdhary issued notice to the government authorities and directed them to file their objections within four weeks.
Earlier, a plea was filed by M/S Petro Star through counsel Gulzar Ahmad Bhat had sought direction upon the respondents to allow the petitioner firm to bring the product namely Petro Star HMO in the valley for its sale and distribution.
The petitioner counsel submitted before the court that earlier also the respondents had not permitted the petitioner to bring its product in the valley which compelled the petitioner to file the writ petition before the court.
He further submitted that on February, 08, 2021, the court had directed the respondents to permit the petitioner to bring its product in the valley for sale and distribution.
"Despite court directions the authorities are unmoved and are yet to permit the petitioner firm to bring its product in the valley for sale and distribution," he stated.
After hearing the counsel, the court directed that subject to objections from the other side and till next date of hearing before the Bench, the respondents shall permit the petitioner firm to bring its product in the valley for sale and distribution.
