Shopian, Dec 12: An awareness programme regarding functioning of Jan Aushadhi Kendra and its importance was organised at DH Shopian.
The Programme was attended by CMO Shopian,   Dr Arshad Hussain Tak, Assistant Director Directorate of Health Services, Dr Nishat;  Dy. Drugs Controller kashmir division, Ms Irfana;  Dy. drugs controller ILC kashmir, Ms Nighat Andrabi;  Assistant drugs controller Pulwama,  Ms Tabassum Wani; Nodal officer BPPI J&K, Ms Riffat and other officer also participated.
While speaking on the occasion, CMO said that the  motive of the programme is to create awareness about the importance of  Jan Aushadhi Kendra’s as the Jan Aushadhi Scheme initiated  by the Government of India is a powerful intervention against the unjustifiable pricing of medicines by private Pharmaceutical Industry to make the generic medicines available at affordable prices and this scheme has already proven to be beneficial to the poor people who cannot afford the medicines due to their high price.
He informed that, 'we have started four Jan Aushadhi Kendra’s and have proposed two more'. He also requested doctors to provide necessary support so that this scheme will be a grand success in District Shopian.

Once there is rainfall, all runoff and other waste from the landmass directly drains out into the Dal which becomes a reason the water body gets muddied and at many places chocked.
