Jan 26 arrangements reviewed in Shopian

Shopian, Dec 24: The Additional District Magistrate, (ADM) Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani Friday chaired a meeting of various departments to review the arrangements for Republic Day Celebration-2022.
The ADM discussed in detail all the arrangements to be made for smooth conduct of the National event. He stressed on close synergy among the concerned departments while making arrangements.
During the meeting, threadbare discussions were held on printing of invitation cards, selection of contingents, cultural items, transportation, sanitation, cleanliness and the concerned departments were directed to put in place requisite arrangements well in advance.
The ADM exhorted upon all concerned officers to ensure that all necessary arrangements are put in place well in time for smooth and successful celebration of the Republic day.
He asked the concerned for immediate furnishing of the lists of contingents and cultural items, while others were also told to share the lists of contingents.
Necessary directions were issued to the concerned departments for selection of contingents, cultural programmes, rehearsals, and transportation facilities for participants besides, traffic management, security, presentation, refreshment, installation of screens/ LEDs, illumination of Government buildings and other important arrangements for smooth conduct of Republic day celebration.
The meeting was attended by officers of Police, Traffic Jal Shakti, PDD, PWD, MC, Health Services, Information, Education, Youth Services and Sports and other concerned departments.
 
Kisan Mela held at Shirmal
A Kisan-Mela cum Livestock Mandi was Friday organised by the Chief Animal Husbandry Office (Department of Animal Husbandry Shopian) at Poultry Project Shirmal, here. 
The Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmed Simnani was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Simnani distributed the Cows among the beneficiaries, selected through a draw of lots, for the milk village established under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) while observing Good Governance Week as part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ campaign.
The Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Shopian, Ishrat Shakeel, Officers/ Officials of Animal Husbandry Department Shopian were present on the occasion.

ARTO Shopian organises signatory campaign
To enhance the responsive Administration at the grass-roots level, multiple activities were Friday carried out by ARTO Shopian and his team at Batpora Bus Stand as part of the ‘Good Governance Week’.
A number of vehicles were inspected and the fit ones were provided Fitness Certificates on the spot. 
A signature campaign to promote Road Safety was also conducted and a number of drivers signed under the Road Safety Pledge written on a banner.
Road Safety Posters were also distributed among different road users. Besides, Registration Certificates were also distributed among the owners of newly registered vehicles.
On the occasion, ARTO Shopian, Muazzam Ali said that the practices which have been initiated and adopted during "Good Governance Week" will be carried forward and implemented in future as well.
 
 
Strengthen grassroot-level democracy: DC
The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya Friday convened a meeting to review the works of RDD taken up under District Capex Budget (DCB) plan 2021-22 besides DDC, BDC and PRI components.
At the outset, the DDC took sector-wise review of works undertaken by the department to cater to the developmental needs of the district with focus on strengthening grassroots level democracy.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC stressed on the concerned authorities to take all possible measures to accelerate the pace of ongoing works for their time-bound completion.
Vaishya impressed upon the concerned officers to simultaneously submit the bills of the completed works in order to avoid any kind of inconvenience in future and added that no laxity will be tolerated in this regard.
The DDC exhorted for mobilizing men and machinery for completing the works in stipulated time frame besides urged to ensure productive and fruitful utilization of the available resources.
He asked all the concerned officers to work in close synergy to provide maximum benefits to the people.
