Inclement weather: Nomadic families in distress in Kousar Nag, teams en route with relief: DC Kulgam

Kulgam, June 22: Due to heavy rains in the valley, and snowfall in the high altitudes the District administration of Kulgam is reaching out to migratory families stuck with their livestock at Kausar Nag. The unprecedented snowfall at Kausar Nag has put up huddles in the normal activity of nomadic families there.
Speaking to Rising Kashmir, Dr Bilal Mohideen, the DC Kulgam said, “Normally the nomadic families for their cattle search pastures for grazing so where these families at Kausar Nag but, due to untimely snowfall and rains they're having a bit of a problem there.”
However, the teams have been constituted and are on their way to Kausar Nag.
“Teams with all essential items, medicines, livestock feed and canvas are en route. The teams will make it to Kausar Nag tonight,” he added.
“Have received distress calls from migratory families stuck in high altitude #kausarnag #kulgam. Teams constituted and sent with necessary relief (blankets, waterproof covers. Food & fodder). Teams will reach there after trekking for 30 kms (sic),” DC Kulgam tweeted.
