Commissioner SMC reviews civil works during city tour

Srinagar, July 28: Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Amir Athar Khan on Wednesday visited various areas of Srinagar City and took stock of ongoing civil works and other developmental projects.
 
The Commissioner, SMC visited the Parimpora area to review the status of the under-construction Habba Khatoon Complex. He also visited several locations at Maloora including Maloora – Galib Abad Lane 3 to see the feasibility of having a drainage network in place to ease out the issues of the people and cater to the public demands living in these low lying areas.
 
On the occasion, the Commissioner SMC passed directions to the R&B City Roads Division to go for road restoration and blacktopping of the areas already identified by the City Roads Division.
 
The Commissioner, SMC was informed at the scene that the tendering process will be initiated instantly to take up further developmental works.
 
While visiting many areas, he also identified some ongoing constructions at Maloora, Lawaypora, HMT, Shalteng Bypass and checked the status of the building permissions of the said structures on spot.
 
In this regard, the concerned were directed to keep monitoring that ongoing constructions are strictly coming up as per the issued building permission without any deviations.
 
He also visited HMT, Lawaypora to review sanitation, civil works, the status of lanes and drains, the drainage mechanism including the requirement of macadamization and various ongoing constructions.
 
At Gundhasi Bhat Lawaypora, the Commissioner SMC also reviewed the recently constructed stormwater drain and the functioning of its connectivity with the main drain.
 
He also visited several Mohallas and lanes at Lawaypora and Gundhasi Bhat to see the status of lanes and drains.
 
At the end of the tour, he visited Green Space developed at Bemina Bypass and reviewed the ongoing work at the site.
 
He was accompanied by the concerned Corporator, S.E Drainage, Joint Commissioner (Works) SMC, Executive Engineers, Chief Enforcement Officer, Chief Sanitation Officer, Officials of Smart City, R&B officials and other officials concerned.
