Srinagar-Jammu highway closed for second day as avalanche hits Jawahar tunnel

The Jammu-Srinagar highway was closed for second consecutive day on Tuesday after landslides and an avalanche hit the highway near Jawahar Tunnel area.

Reports said landslides have hit the highway at some places in Ramban district, including Digdol, Panthal, Magarkote and Khoni Nallah.

A fresh snowfall was witnessed in parts of Kashmir Valley and in Banihal area.

On Monday the highway was closed following snowfall in Jawahar Tunnel area.

The Jammu-Srinagar highway was closed for second consecutive day on Tuesday after landslides and an avalanche hit the highway near Jawahar Tunnel area.
