The separatist leader Saturday called for a shutdown in Kashmir on Monday against incidents of braid chopping.
In a joint statement, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik said the braid chopping incidents were part of a well-thought out conspiracy.
"It is a big challenge for us as dignity of women folk isat stake," they said.
They appealed people to observe complete shutdown on Monday against the humiliation meted to women.
"Let us convey a message to these miscreants that in noway we will give up our resistance and will pursue the right to self-determination movement," they said.
The leaders appealed people to maintain unity. “The unity and steadfastness is need of the hour. We will pursue our mission till its logical end”.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat Conference (G) chief spokesman Ghulam Ahmad Gulzarwas arrested by police this evening.
A Hurriyat (G) spokesman said Gulzar was arrested this evening by police and taken to unknown location.
