A seminar on drug addiction was held at ANMT school Khanpora Budgam on Thursday under the District Health Society Budgam and National Mental health program.
The seminar was organized by Divisional Nodal Officer Mental Health, Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK), Dr Imtiyaz Mansur.
Doctors representing health blocks of Budgam participated and perils of drug abuse were discussed and young doctors were oriented with treatment approach as well.
The event was presided over by Chief Medical Officer, Budgam, Dr Tajamul. He urged people to come up for treatment as district hospitals have a dedicated team twice a week for such patients.
Speakers who spoke at the seminar include Divisional Nodal Officer Mental health DHSK, Dr Imtiyaz Mansur, Program Officer Mental Health JLNM Hospital, Dr Asmat Mushtaq and counselor from drug rehabilitation centre Eidgah, Abid Hussain.
It was an Information Education Communication (IEC) activity under the National Mental Health Program (NMHP).
Principal of the ANMT school, Dr Ashraf presented the vote of thanks at the seminar.
The CMO was later appreciated for holding the academic program where all Standard Operation Procedures related to the COVID-19 pandemic were strictly followed.
