In an order to ensure the regular water supply for better fruit and crop production, Member Legislative Assembly, Sangrama, Syed Basharat Bukhari said a water reservoir would be constructed in the area to help the agriculture industry.
According to the plan, the basin will store the water of Ningli Nallah, Kursi Nallah and Frasthar, the three main water streams that flow in the area.
“There are some areas in Sangrama constituency, which suffer the water scarcity owing to the geography. Due to which the quality of fruits and crops suffer,” MLA Sangrama told Rising Kashmir.
Bukhari was on a seven-day tour of Sangrama constituency to assess the completion of the undergoing developmental projects.
During his tour along with various officials of power, irrigation, cooperative, PHE, Health, horticulture, agriculture and rural development, Bukhari said, “To ensure bumper paddy crops in the area the water of Shoonsh Kol and Kursi Kol would be used for the irrigation of paddy fields.”
He said that to increase quality and quantity in both horticulture and agriculture sector, hybrid seeds would be used and plants would be used.
Pertinently, Bukhari last year during his tour to the constituency asked both the horticulture and agriculture officers to conduct the test of soil for the better cultivation of fruits and crops.
“The decision to make the use of hybrid seeds is the outcome of the last year tour,” he said.

“The people of Kalantra and Shrakwara told me about their grievances regarding the absence of proper medical aid. I have asked the concerned BMO to ensure the presence of concerned doctors at their respective places to provide the medical aid to the people of area,” he said.
He also urged district authorities to fill up the vacant posts under NRHM, which will help in meeting the demands.
Stating that the cooperative sector has brought the revolution to the Gujarat state, he said that the youth of the area have been asked to form the small cooperatives for the sustainable employment opportunities. “In this regard the camps would be organized at Bandibala Nilsar, Watergham, Sopore (area falling in Sangrama constituency) and Hygham to increase the awareness about the cooperative sector among the youth.
“We have a huge potential in agriculture, horticulture, dairy farming, sheep rearing and in other allied sectors. The cooperatives can be established which can increase the employment opportunities besides the economic growth,” he said.
