SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 21:
An amount of Rs 1119.09 crores have been approved as District Credit Action Plan for Srinagar district for next fiscal 2012-13.
It was given out at District Level Consultative Committee meeting chaired by District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Baseer Ahmad Khan.
The meeting was attended by Lead Bank Officer, Tasaduq Ahmad Alamgir, concerned District Officers and representatives of various financial institutions operating in the district.
It was given out that Rs 30.67 crore have been fixed for Agriculture and allied sectors under the Plan while Rs 265.90 crores have been approved for small enterprises and Rs 27.50 crores for micro credit. Similarly, Rs 20 crores has been approved for Education, Rs 140 crore for Housing and Rs 640 crore for non-priority sector.
Besides, Rs 96.57 crores has been earmarked to accommodate unemployed educated youth of the district.
The meeting was informed that an amount of Rs 603.39 crores was disbursed for setting up 22963 units by the financial institutions under the priority sectors, while Rs. 363.68 crores were disbursed under non-priority sector during current fiscal in the district.
Khan urged the sponsoring agencies and Banks to expand their reach to the lower strata of the society by making the loan procedures hassle free.
