Resident Doctors Association (RDA) Saturday called-off their strike after four days following governing body meet in which RDA had asked for an enquiry to investigate the SKIMS controversy.
RDA spokesperson told Rising Kashmir that in greater interest of patient care they suspended the strike program.
“We welcome the steps taken by governing body meet on Friday in which it asked for an enquiry to investigate the matter,” he said.
RDA said that they expect a time-bound findings from the enquiry as per the law.
They welcomed government’s decision to appoint Dr Omar Javid Shah, Prof. Gastroenterology and Dean Faculty as interim Director of the Institute.
“It is good to see him from SKIMS Medical Fraternity rather than a bureaucrat,” it said.
Following attachment of Director SKIMS Dr A.G Ahangar last week, RDA began its strike from Tuesday which hit the patient care in the premier institute.
