Srinagar:

Chairperson Kashmir Tehreek-e-Khawateen (KTK) Zamrooda Habib Monday said J&K Police should take moral responsibility “for pushing the youth into militancy and innocent killings”.
“The three young boys killed in Budgam is the result of inhuman charter of J&K Police. The heart breaking stories published in newspapers and statements by the families of slain militants Aaqib, Tafsel and Sajjad Ahmad Gilkar, all educated youth is a serious concern for all of us how J&K Police are using third degree torture in interrogation centers and torture cells to make the lives of our young boys hell and leave them no option to lead normal life,” Zamrooda Habib said in her statement.
She said the three slain militants were the worst victims of police atrocities that “forced them to pick up arms”.
Zamrooda Habib in her statement said: “This is not the first barbaric and inhuman case but there are thousands of such cases where the young boys were made mentally and physically disabled, or were killed and disappeared in police custody.”
Zamrooda Habib said higher police officers should do some introspection and make their institution accountable so that innocent killings and pushing the younger generation to militancy could be cheeked and stopped.
Zamarooda said: “There are many agencies and hawks who don’t want Kashmir problem to be resolved peacefully and the institution of police is facilitating them , unfortunately we call this institution our institution.”
