Rising Kashmir NewsRAMBAN:
The transfer of the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Ramban, Mohammed Aijaz to Shopian triggered the protests in Ramban district on Thursday evening.
Annoyed over what they termed as the premature transfer of DC, Rambam, the protesters led by local youth leader Shahrukh Bhatti came out on road and held a demonstration.
They called his transfer as an “injustice” with the people of Ramban district.
The protesting youth accused the state coalition government of ignoring the interests of people of Ramban and “as usually depriving them of dedicated and efficient officers”.
“In past too, the successive governments have transferred the honest, committed and dynamic officers from Ramban district when they had hardly got settled, understood the politico-socio situation of the area and begun implementing their plans,” they said.
Urging the state government to immediately revoke the decision, the protesters warned of agitation over the issue.
They raised slogans against the state coalition government.
According to reports, similar peaceful protests by the public have been reported from Banihal and Gool also.
