PDP-BJP coordination committee meeting today

Jammu, Nov 20:

 The coordination committee of ruling BJP-PDP alliance would be meeting at the residence of Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh on Tuesday.
Sources told Rising Kashmir that in the coordination committee meeting of the two parties, first after the death of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed last year, would discuss issues like implementation of Agenda of Alliance (AoA), Panchayat elections and review performance of the coalition government.
“It is just an introductory meeting, where some issues regarding governance and Panchayat elections would be discussed. However, no formal agenda has been set for the meeting,” they said.
The meeting would be chaired by senior BJP leader and DyCM Nirmal Singh at his official residence, here.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, Shamsher Singh Manhas and Narinder Singh Raina would represent BJP while PDP would be represented by Abdul Rehman Veeri, Sartaj Madni, Tirlok Singh Bajwa, and Dillawar Mir.
It may be mentioned here that PDP inducted new members including Abdul Rehman Veeri, Sartaj Madni, Tarlok Singh Bajwa and Dillawar Mir in the coordination committee while BJP replaced its state president and MLA Sat Sharma and inducted Narinder Singh Raina.
The Coordination Committee of the coalition parties had not met for over one and half years following the demise of Mufti Sayeed due to unknown reasons.
The Coordination Committee was constituted for better understanding between the alliance partners and to ensure implementation of AoA, which was framed by the two parties before forming coalition government in the State in March 2015.
Meanwhile, the insiders in BJP said the budget session of the Assembly is likely to begin in Jammu from the first week of January 2018.
The said since the last Assembly session in Srinagar ended on July 6 this year, the government has to conduct Assembly session within six months.
“It it is most likely that the next budget session will be held in the first week of January 2018,” they said.
