More villages in central and north Kashmir were declared as red zones by authorities in view of Covid-19 positive cases.
District Magistrate, Bandipora, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza, said that in view of six positive cases reported from the district, the administration has declared the villages Konan, GundQaiser, Gund-Dachina, Hakbara, Madwan and Pethkote in Bandipora as “Red Zones”.
“It has become imperative to initiate restrictive measures under section 144 CrPC for prevention of danger to human life , health and safety,” he said adding, “There should be no outward or inward movement of any individual for any reason, whatsoever, in these villages.” The DM directed the law enforcing agencies to implement prohibitory orders in letter and spirit to save lives. He warned of strict action against the violators of the order under section 188 IPC and other relevant provisions of Epidemic Disease Act 1897 and the Disaster Management Act 2005.
District Magistrate (DM) Kupwara, Anshul Garg also declared the village Baghbella,Tandghar and Quarantine Centre ITI Handwara as “Red Zones”.
Both the inward and outward movement to these places has been restricted completely and people asked to stay indoors.
The DM asked inhabitants of these areas to restrict their movement and to not allow relatives and visitors to visit their homes without written permission of concerned Administrator.
The District Magistrate Ganderbal also declared Guzhama village in the central Kashmir as red zone and Batpora and Khanpora villages as buffer zones to prevent spread of corona virus after first Covid-19 positive case was from report Guzhama village of tehsil Wakura.
