MMA calls for Islamic dress code in schools

Mutahida Majls Ulema Jammu and Kashmir , an alliance of various religious organizations, has urged private and government schools to  ensure female students   and  teachers follow an  “Islamic dress code”.

 “The Majlis also appeals working women to observe purdah  while performing their duties ,” the alliance said after a meeting, chaired by Maulana Abbas Ansari,  at Mirwaiz Manzil  Rajouri Kadal .
Jamat-e-Islami’s Advocate Zahid Ali, Jamiat Ahl Hadees’s Maulvi Riyaz,  General Secretary Abdul Rehman , Darul-ul-Uloom  Bilaliya’s  Mufti Abdul Rashid,  and members reprenting other religious organizations participated in the meeting and expressed the need for expediting efforts to uproot the “menace of apostasy” from the society.
The Majlis also appealed aima( clerics) to highlight the issue in their sermons.
