Leopard kills 20 sheep in Karnah village

A Leopard strayed into a village in Kandi Jada area of Karnah in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on the intervening night of Sunday-Monday and killed over twenty sheep in the village.
The Leopard reportedly attacked a herd of sheep and goats, thus killing 20 of them in Kandi Thama hamlet of Karnah Tehsil.
The sheep belonged to Mohd Yousuf Paswal, son of Nasir Din of Jada village of Karnah.
While talking to local news agency, Yousuf said, “On Sunday night, a leopard entered into shed and killed over twenty sheep.”
He said that these sheep and goats are his only source of income, thus the killing of sheep has caused immense loss to him.
Villagers later appealed to the wildlife department to depute a team to capture the Leopard. (KNS)
