The 434-km-long national highway, linking Ladakh region with Kashmir and historic Mughal road, was closed for traffic due to early morning snowfall.
However, the 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu national highway was through for traffic despite rain.
A traffic police official said that traffic on the Srinagar-Leh national highway was suspended on Wednesday morning following snowfall at Zojilla pass.
The road had become slippery due to snowfall, he said, adding that traffic would be restored if the weather will improve.
“We will allow traffic from Drass to Kashmir on the highway and from Srinagar to Leh in the afternoon after the road become safe for journey,” he said.
