KVIB Anantnag organizes seminar on REGP scheme

Jammu and Kashmir Khadi & Village Industries Board Anantnag today organised a seminar regarding Rural Employment Generation Programme (REGP) Scheme at Zonal Office JK Bank, Bakshiabad Anantnag.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Reyaz Ahmad Sofi was Chief Guest in the Seminar.
On the occasion the Chief Guest asked the unemployed youth to benefit from the schemes offered by KVIB. The Deputy Secretary, KVIB said that the board has been involved in planning, promoting, developing & organizing micro industrial sector. He said the energy and enthusiasm of the youth should be channelized for establishment of the productive enterprise in micro industrial sector and to create employment opportunities in rural areas.
On the occasion, the experts from KVIB, District Industries Centre (DIC) Anantnag, various Bank branch heads explained the participants regarding the various kinds of loans, schemes and programmes for their economic wellbeing. The participants were given awareness about availing the benefits of REGP scheme and other such centrally sponsored schemes. The experts provided them expertise regarding how to strengthen their REGP units and how to make them sustainable and more profitable. The participants thanked the Khadi and Village Industries Board for organising such programmes. Manager Lead Bank Anantnag, and representatives from various banks were present on the occasion.
DC reviews progress of power sector schemes in Kupwara
KUPWARA: Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir on Thursday reviewed the progress of Power sector schemes viz DeenDayal Gram Jyoti Yojana, IPDS, PMDP, (Rural/Urban) and Saubhagya with officers of PDD, Project Wing and RECPDCL in the district.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning, ACD Kupwara, Exens of R&B, PHE and Executive Officers of MC Kupwara and Handwara.
The meeting fixed the timeline for execution of project-wise works. It was resolved that works under DDUGY will commence by first week of January and RAPDRP works in towns shall start in next ten days. It was given out that land has been identified at Galizoo for new Receiving Station.
The DDC Kupwara urged officers to work with more zeal and complete the projects within the fixed timeline.
The DDC said that the execution of these projects within stipulated time frame, maximum 18 months, will benefit the district to a great extent and help realize the demands of the people for sustained power supply.
