The body of 8-year-old Asifa Bano of Kathua was recovered from Hiranagar after she went missing a week ago.
Eyewitness told Rising Kashmir that she was raped before being killed. The locals have also blocked the Jammu-New Delhi national highway.
Meanwhile, Congress legislator from Banihal Viqar Rasool said in the house on Thursday that the protesting locals have been alleging that the girl was raped for eight days before she was killed.
“The accused, Banu, has political patronage and he is still at large,” he said.
Earlier, the house also witnessed uproar as opposition staged walkout while the government said that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed under an SDPO.
“Guilty will be brought to justice,” Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Abdul Rehman Veeri said.
Opposition MLA Inderwal demanded suspension SHO of the concerned police station.
The opposition legislators alleged that police did not make any efforts to trace the girl after she was abducted.
The opposition legislators said that the minorities have been persecuted under the present political dispensation.
