Srinagar, April 01: Jammu and Kashmir has secured top rank among Union Territories on the CCTNS Pragati Dashboard, reflecting strong gains in technology driven policing and citizen services. The ranking, released by the National Crime Records Bureau as of March 1, 2026, places J&K first among UTs excluding Delhi. Delhi stands first in the overall national ranking of States and UTs. The monthly assessment, monitored by the NCRB under the Ministry of Home Affairs, evaluates performance
on data quality, timeliness, and accuracy across national policing systems integrated with the Interoperable Criminal Justice System. Officials said J&K performed strongly across key indicators. These include full connectivity of police stations, complete deployment of core CCTNS applications, timely data syncing with the National Data Centre, and effective integration with ICJS components. The UT has also ensured round the clock access to services through the JK Citizen Portal. Citizens can access verifications, track cases, and register
grievances online. Police officials said the improved ranking will lead to faster case registration and tracking, better accuracy in records, and smoother coordination across the criminal justice system. The achievement follows sustained efforts by the CCTNS team of the Crime Branch, J&K Police. Authorities said the focus on technology and data driven processes is improving transparency, accountability, and public trust. J&K Police said it remains committed to delivering efficient and citizen centric policing across the Union Territory.
