Srinagar, Sep 09: Hurriyat Conference (G) led by Syed Ali Geelani Thursday alleged that the government is using every tactic to dodge the release of the party chairman.
According to a local news gathering agency, KMN, party spokesman Ayaz Akbar alleged, “When our advocates tried to meet the Executive Magistrate in connection with the release of Geelani sahib, he avoided the meeting saying that he was busy.”
“Geelani sahib has been booked under Section 107 and 151 CrPC for which an application of bail is permitted. But when Advocate Shabir Ahmad Bhat and Bilal Ahmad Wani went to the office of Executive Magistrate (Tehsildar) with a bail application, he pretended to be busy,” Akbar said.
He said the authorities are trying everything to dodge the release of the ailing leader. “To detain the ailing leader is not only a condemnable but an inhuman act,” he said.
He also urged people to celebrate Eid-ul Fitr with complete austerity.
