Hakeem demands helicopter services to evacuate stranded passengers

Expressing concern over the miserable condition of stranded passengers at Jammu due to continuous closure of highway, Chairman PDF Hakeem Yaseen Monday urged the Governor S P Malik to press into service free air sorties and helicopter service to evacuate stranded passengers on war-footing basis.
In a statement issued, Hakeem said despite hue and cry from all quarters over the prevailing situation, the administration seems to be napping .He has sought Governors personal intervention to deal with the situation so that stranded passengers are rescued.
He also urged to make Mughal road and Kishtwar-Daksum road as all-weather alternate highways by starting work on proposed tunnels there.
PDF Chairman said that airfare has skyrocketed after the closure of the highway leaving hundreds of valley-bound people stuck at Jammu.
