Free medical camp held for SMC sanitation workers at Achan dumping site

As a part of Swach Survekshan 2020, a free medical camp for sanitation associates of Srinagar Municipal Corporation was held at Achin dumping site on Wednesday in which over 100 patients were treated.
A statement from of the SMC said the camp aimed specifically for sanitation associates working at the Achin land filling site, was organized by local NGO’s, Human welfare voluntarily organization in collaboration with Genesis Productions Private Limited.
As a part of the SMC in Information, Education and communication (IEC), around 100-110 sanitation workers were provided free medicines, consultation and checkups by doctors.
Free medicines were distributed among the patients by NGO’s in the said camp.
The event was attended by officials of SMC including Chief Sanittaion Officer, Zonal Sanitation Officers of East and North blocks of SMC and other officials.
Project Coordinator HWVO, Javid Ahmad Najar said the aim for conducting these camps is to aware the employees about the health issues regarding the lifting garbage.
“We are trying best to provide better health consultations for the sanitation associates, who are prone to infections,” he said.
