Downtown, Baramullah, Rajbagh win matches

 In the inaugural match of first ever Kashmir Premier League in Saudi Arabia, Downtown Dynamites AlKharj (DDK) won against Anantnag Avengers Abha (AAA) by four wickets on Friday.

Batting first, AAA were bundled out on 115. The highest score 52 in 27 balls came from by Ishfaq Qadir.

Airf Malik took three wickets while conceding only 15 runs in 4 overs.

In reply DDK chased the target in 19.3 overs losing six wickets. Arif Malik was the highest scorer hitting 57 runs in only 39 balls.

Man of the match was given to Arif Malik and performer of the match award was given to Ishfaq Qadir.

Second Match

In the second match of the day, Baramullah Bashers Nofa (BBN) won against Srinagar Strikers Jeddah (SSJ) by 11 runs. BBN won the toss and elected to bat first. BBN managed put up a decent score of 181 runs for 6 in allotted 20 overs.

In reply, SSJ got good start by their openers Bilal Wani and Samiullah Najar.

Samiullah Najar scored a quick fire 64 in 35 balls with eight fours and three sixes. However, in the end other batsmen of SSJ couldn’t keep up with scoring rate and lost by 11 Runs.

Man of the match was given to Qamar Khan and performer of the match award was given to Samiullah Najar

Third match

Last match of the KPL of the week first was played between Rajbagh Royals Riyadh (RRR) and Rawlakot Rangers Jubail (RRJ). RRR won the toss and decided to bat first and made a fighting score of 143 runs on board with lusting hitter in the middle order by Syed Gowher scoring 48 in 27 balls. In reply, RRJ were bundled out for 130 runs. Sohail Latif remained top scorer from RRJ who hit 37 in 28 balls. This match was the upset for the KPL-1 as RRR were considered as underdogs and were playing for fun but with such performance Royals are sending clear message to all team that it is not going to be easy when playing against RRR.

Dr. Sadat Bashir bowled a wonderful spell by taking one wicket and giving just 19 runs in 4 overs. Also a match winning bowling spell of Sabzar Bhat claiming two wickets for 18 runs in 4 overs.

Man of the match was handed over to Syed Gowher and performer of the match award was given to Tanvir Bhat.
