Srinagar, Mar 30 : Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg on Sunday held an interaction with representatives of industries and trade bodies to review their concerns amid the evolving situation in the Middle East, officials said. The meeting was attended by representatives of various micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and organisations including the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Federation of Chambers of Industries Kashmir, Confederation of Indian Industry, Kashmir Chamber of
Commerce and Industry and the Hoteliers Association. Senior officials, including the Director of Industries and Commerce, Labour Commissioner and Deputy Labour Commissioner, also participated in the deliberations. During the interaction, the delegation raised issues related to availability of officers at District Industries Centres, delays in payments, pendency in change of land use approvals, banking constraints and labour-related concerns. They also called for improvements in the ease of doing business ecosystem and effective implementation
of the MSME Development Act. The representatives expressed concern over accumulation of unsold inventory, possible disruptions in raw material supply and rising freight costs, stating that these factors could impact business continuity. They also stressed the need for skilling and upskilling initiatives to enhance productivity and availability of local workforce. Officials said the Divisional Commissioner assured the delegation that the issues raised would be taken up with the concerned authorities for timely resolution.(KNS)
