Principals and Superintendents of IITs and Polytechnics of Directorate of Technical Education Thursday rebutted the allegation against the Director Technical Education Shabnam Shah Kamli saying that she played a very vital role in taking out this department from identity crisis it used to face earlier.

They the Directorate of Technical Education is headed by a remarkably courageous and an inspiring women who since last one year has always been in news for all wrong reasons. They said that Kamli is working for betterment of the department despite all odds and pressures.

In a statement they said: “Department used to have a history of doing nothing in the field of academic excellence and entrepreneurship because of some miscreants and mischievous elements, who by their arrogance and wrong doings used to pressurise officers either in the name of vigilance organisation, crime branch or to have affiliations with political bosses for their vested interests to derail the main objective of the department.”

They said that before Kamil’s joining to this worthy department, no director including his staff dares to touch establishment matters, purchases, civil works, departmental promotion committees and other day-to-day activities of the department.

They said: “As principals of different prestigious polytechnic institutes across the state we have seen how students were suffering for want of machinery equipments, staff, material supplies, stationary items despite having sufficient budget which used to get surrendered every year to finance department because of these nefarious elements who used to threat the already constituted SLPC members and subject experts associated with it.”

They thanked Kamli for understanding the department well and started the legal purchases through a legal and transparent mechanism of e-tendering.

They requested all not to create nuisance within the department by giving baseless and inappropriate information to different agencies for vested interests.
