District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo accompanied by various officers today inspected several ongoing developmental projects of the district where he took stock of the pace of the work.
He inspected Polytechnic College, coming up at Kanispora. The college is in its final phase of completion and shall be well equipped with modern and advanced facilities. DDC directed the concerned authorities to speed up the pace of work so that the is completed as early
Dr. Itoo also paid a visit to Government Medical College Baramulla where Medical Superintendent Dr Syed Masood briefed him about the status of the ongoing work. DDC stressed upon mobilizing additional men and machinery so that remaining work is completed within the stipulated time frame.
DDC also directed the executive agencies to accelerate the pace of work and keep into consideration the related health advisories especially maintaining social distancing and using safety gears.
Later, the DDC inspected several locations of the main market Baramulla in order to take a review of the implementation of various COVID-19 related advisories especially observing lockdown and other related guidelines.
On the occasion, DDC ordered sealing of about 30 shops for violating the prohibitory orders and warned of strict legal action against those indulging in lockdown violations.
The DDC expressed the gratitude of the people for cooperating with the administration in observing lockdown and appealed them to follow all the requisite norms and guidelines pertaining to COVID-19 pandemic so that the risk is avoided.
