Banks disburse credit of Rs.352.99 crore under priority, non-priority sector
Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza Thursday chaired a District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting to review the progress made under different schemes.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Lead District Manager Bandipora, G.M.Ahanger and heads of various banks operating in the district.
The meeting was informed that all the banks operating in the district registered an achievement of 37.14 percent in Priority sector, 135.09 % in Non-Priority sector and 52.14% in total plan of the financial year 2019-2020.
The banks have extended credit aggregating to an amount of Rs. 212.89 crore under Priority Sector and Rs 140.10 crore under Non- Priority sector, aggregating to total credit of Rs.352.99 crore up to December 31st 2020
It was given out that J&K Bank alone has disbursed Rs 284.46 crore which amounts to 80.58 percent of the total credit disbursed by all banks operating in the district up to December 31, 2019 for the financial year 2019-2020.
Besides reviewing the performance of Banks and Govt. departments under various Schemes, the meeting discussed various issues with regard to the disbursal and activation of KCC accounts. The DC directed for 100% Financial Inclusion and 100% saturation of KCC loans among the farmers within the scheduled time line.
He stressed on creating awareness among the masses so that all the beneficiaries are linked to the banks under the scheme and cards are issued at earliest.
DC Bandipora stressed upon all the banks and the sponsoring agencies to work in close coordination to achieve the goals and targets for development, progress and eradication of poverty and unemployment.
