Jammu, Sept 06:
The BJP in Jammu on Monday  said that it would hold protests in 41 assembly constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday against the demand for autonomy, which the party termed as an attention diverting tactic from real issues.

“Coalition government and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has totally failed in governing the state. They are not able to control the situation in Kashmir which is burning in turmoil from past more than two months. So, now the talk of autonomy is a tactic to divert attention of people from real issues,”  BJP President, Shamsher Singh Manhas told reporters.
He also demanded immediate resignation of Chief Minister. “It is high time for CM to resign, as he has lost the moral authority to govern the state anymore.”
Manhas accused Omar and his father Farooq Abdullah of being “politically bankrupt”.
“Diverting attention of people from real issue by raising the demand of autonomy clearly shows that Omar Abdullah and Farooq Abdullah have turned bankrupt. They are not able to address the real issues or problems facing the people in three regions of the state," he added.
The BJP chief said that owing the tactics of NC led government in the state of raising the autonomy demand for diverting the attention of people, the BJP has decided to hold protest dharnas in 37 Assembly constituencies of Jammu province, two of Kashmir and two of Ladakh region on September
against the autonomy issue. “If NC is really serious about their demand for autonomy, so what is the reason for being silent for so long after passing autonomy resolution in the state legislature over a decade back Manhas questioned.
He maintained that BJP stands for full integration of J&K with India and will utilise all its resources to defeat the forces who try to weaken the Indian sovereignty over Jammu and Kashmir by raising demands like Autonomy, Self-Rule and Joint Management.
