In a meeting on Thursday, CCIK questioned the order of the government asking the tourists to vacate from Valley.
“We do not wish to challenge the powers that be over the wisdom and intellect of some of these crushing and cracking steps that have played havoc on the lives and economy of Jammu and Kashmir,” observed the members in the meeting.
They questioned government asking tourists and Amarnath Yatris to vacate their accommodations in Kashmir and subsequently snapping the internet.
“Did we send law enforcing agencies after the accommodation keepers to ensure total and complete vacation? Did we snap internet? Did we unleash Government and semi government agencies after the members of the business community for harassing us?” they questioned.
The members also accused Power Department for harassing them while also collecting inflated fees.
Public Health Engineering Department (PHE) is also on our back for the collection of unilaterally hiked water charges,” CCIK said.
It said their loan accounts also turn into NPAs on account of government’s decision.
It said government decisions which created current situation has let damaged tourism, horticulture, handicrafts, general trade and agriculture sectors.
Despite financial crunch times, Fire and Emergency Department, State Employees’ Insurance Corporation, Pollution Control Board, Tourism Department and others are after us for creating hiatus in our business activities in these trying times.
“All out financial problems are government given and handiwork of the local departments and its officers who are hell bent on crushing our economy besides maligning us.”
