Scores of aspirants of Public Administration on Thursday appealed government to introduce Public Administration as a subject at the secondary level in schools across Jammu and Kashmir.
They said in 2014, Secretary school education department, had sought response concerned authorities regarding introduction of Public Administration subject at 2 level and creation of new posts, but till date nothing has been done in this regard.
Abdul Majeed, who was heading the delegation, told Rising Kashmir that Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has also already completed all formalities regarding formulation of syllabus of Public Administration for 11th and 12th Classes.
“We are moving from pillar to post and nothing has been done in the regard,” he said. If there is no scope for the subject, it should be then canceled in state universities," Majeed said.
He said, In Srinagar and Jammu, there are two Public Administration institutes but for years they have not advertised a single job opportunity for the youth. We are jobless and are compelled to do other things, he said.
Another aspirant Mohammad Iqbal said they have already met Advisor to Governor, Khurshid Ganai, and other concerned officials although we submitted our proposal, there was no response from their side.
He said, the government last year said that Public Administration will be introduced at higher secondary level but till now it hasn’t come clear over it.
“Currently three state universities are providing masters programs in Public Administration but it seems our degrees have worth of simple papers,” Iqbal said.
The group appealed Governor Satya Pal Malik and Secretary Education to look into their issue. So that issue will be solved as soon as possible.
