Police resorts for firing

Srinagar, Feb 21:Traffic on national highway is blocked at Lethpora following the massive protests by people against Power Development Department (PDD). Locals told Rising Kashmir over phone that the area is witnessing frequent power cuts for long hours and many localities have no electricity since past few days.
“We have come on to streets to protest against PDD and government,” said a local.
Meanwhile police has resorted to firing to disperse the protestors. However, police action triggered massive stone pelting in the area and people shout anti PDD, police and government slogans. Highway continues to remain blocked and situation is tense in the area. Further details awaited.
