Writing something about the grandeur of the mother is like shutting the sea in a pot. Motherhood is another name for compassion, sincerity, selfless love and sacrifice. Mother is the sweetest word in the world which gives a feeling of love, coolness, affection and peace. It is like a cool shadow for us. In the scorching sun, her loving hand becomes a canopy like a shade of a tree, giving the children a sense of peace. Mothers are epitome of strength, resilience and selflessness.

Her warm lap does not allow us to feel cold. She herself, of course, walks on thorns, but she always puts her children to sleep on the flower bed, and the world, where the sorrows are wrapped in her ankles and smiles on her lips, is alive and well. Whether it is a storm or not, her love never fails. She never asks for the reward of her love but keeps on showering her love on her children selflessly. The fact is that mother’s love is like a sea of beavers. The boundless love of the mother cannot be expressed in words. It is not possible to estimate the limits of this sea of sincerity and selflessness. Every religion and every civilization has declared the mother as great and holy.

Mother is a prayer that always spreads her lappet before the Merciful Lord and protects them step by step. Almighty Allah recognized her greatness by placing Heaven at the feet of this great being. Now whoever wants can get this paradise by serving her, by loving her and by giving her respect and honor. A mother is one of the most sincere relationships in the world. Her life revolves around her children. If we go to any corner of the world, her prayers follow us like a shadow, and her prayers avert the greatest misfortune.

It is narrated that a person asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), “O Messenger of Allah! Who is most deserving of my kind treatment?” He said, “Your mother. He asked, “Then who?” He said “Your mother.” Again he asked, “Then who?” He said. “Your mother.” Three times Prophet (Peace be upon him) gave the same answer. In Islam, disobedience of the mother is considered a great sin because the mother is the entity who nourished the children with her own milk, sacrificed all her comforts in their upbringing, gave up her every comfort and gave up all her desires. The poet of the East, Allama Iqbal, while praising his mother, said something like this: My mother’s face is as beautiful as the beads of a rosary I watched with love and worship was done.

The teachings of Islam highlighted about the greatness, service and obedience of the “mother” as the most unique and unparalleled.  It was an expression of mother’s compassion and mother’s greatness and love that the benefactor of humanity, The holy Quran, the scripture of Muslims and Hadith, the record of practices of prophet Muhammad PBUH and his sayings teaches man and woman to be kind and considerate to parents and also gives higher status and honors to Mother than father.

“And We have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment. His mother carried him with hardship and gave birth to him with hardship, and his gestation and weaning [period] is thirty months. [He grows] until, when he reaches maturity and reaches [the age of] forty years, he says, “My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to work righteousness of which You will approve and make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I am of the Muslims. (Quran 46:15)

My mother I lost you too early. Your departure has left a huge void in my world that could not be fulfilled ever. Your little smile was so powerful enough to erase all my worries and stress. Your absence has made my life meaningless. No matter how much tears roll down my eyes, no matter how much deep pain I feel I have no one to wipe my tears and feel my pain. There is no one to relieve my stress. Your lap was a place where I used to place my head in times of stress and depression. I have lost you I have lost my best companion ever.

You were the first person who held me after I came to this world. My Maa, I don’t even remember how many sleepless nights you had spent when I was crying. I still remember whenever I was sad you were there to provide me support and encouragement. I can say you were like Oxygen for me. I have seen selfishness and self-centeredness in all the relations but there is no selfishness in mother’s relationship. I have best memories of you but unfortunately now you have become a memory for me. It’s because of your care, education and countless sacrifices I am here today. You taught me how to help the needy and how to feel pain for those who have no one to share their sufferings.

I am out of words. I am not able to express the pain which I feel inside due to your absence. Whenever I reach home tired and sleepy I search for you every single day. You have taken a flight to eternal world and left me here in pain. My world has shrunk. It was the time when I was able to do something for you, it was the time to do something in return for your kindness and generosity but you are not there. I still love you because you had taken care of me when I was not able to speak. At that time, you had taken care of all my needs when I wasn’t able to speak.

You taught me how to walk, speak, and take care of myself. Similarly, every bigger step that I have taken in my life is all because of you, my mother. When I was afraid of the dark you would become my light and guide me in that darkness. Also, if I can’t sleep at night you would hold my head on your lap until I fell asleep. Thank you for being the rock of our family. You have always been there for me, through thick and thin, with your unwavering love and support. You have taught me the importance of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. You have shown me what it means to be selfless and kind, and I strive to be like you every day.

You have sacrificed so much for our family, putting our needs before your own. You have never once complained or asked for anything in return. You have always been there to lend an ear, offer advice, and give me a warm hug when I needed it most. Your love and support have been a constant source of strength and comfort in my life. I am grateful for the lessons you have taught me and the values you have instilled in me. You have shown me how to be patient, resilient, and compassionate. You have encouraged me to pursue my dreams and never give up on myself. You have taught me to be strong in the face of adversity and to always stand up for what I believe in.

You were my mentor, my confidant, and my friend. I could not have asked for a better mother. You are my hero, my inspiration, and my guiding light. I love you more than words can express, and I am missing you every second of my life. Every mother is special for her children. She is a great teacher, a lovely friend and a caring parent. Also, she takes cares of the need of the whole family. If there is anyone out there who loves us more than our mother is only God. Not just for my mother but for every mother out there who lives her life for her family deserves praiseworthy applause. Mother is the figure of sincerity and love; she is the ambassador of heaven to the world.

Mother is the great blessing of Almighty Allah, the first school of intellect and consciousness, the source of sincerity, the reflection of Almighty Allah and the garden where there is always tenderness like the petals of flowers for the children. In short, mother is the flower of heaven without which life is meaningless. Ask the value of mother to those whose mothers passed away in their childhood.

We pray to Almighty God to keep all mothers safe and to keep their shadow on their children forever. May almighty Allah grant them the opportunity to attain the bliss of Hajj Akbar in their lives. All my success is due to the training of my mother and her prayers and the patriarchal compassion of my father. May the Almighty Allah have mercy on my mother. Ameen.
