Rising Kashmir News
Srinagar, Dec 03: Taking note of the recent news reports wherein it had been stated that around one million people would die if quake of 8 magnitude strikes Kashmir, the Mother Helpage Worldwide (MHW) discussed the measures to be taken in such an eventuality in a meeting held here today.
The meeting was enlightened by the intervention of MHW CEO, (Capt) Dr Sohail Nasti who specializes in disaster medicine.
The CEO said the MHW will soon launch a pamphlet apprising the people of the dos and don’ts in such emergencies.
Pertinent to mention here that the State of Jammu Kashmir is located in a hyper seismic zone. The October 5 quake of 2005 caused massive devastation across the State especially in Muzaffarabad and its adjoining areas.
