Kishtwar tragic incident widely condoled: Four members of a tribal family die after tree falls on tent

Srinagar, May 25: Leaders across the political spectrum have expressed grief over the tragic death of four members of a tribal nomadic family in a mishap in the Kishtwar district as a result of a massive pine tree falling on their tent.
In their condolence message, Jammu & Kashmir National Conference president and Member of the Parliament from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah and vice president Omar Abdullah expressed heartfelt condolences and sympathies with the bereaved families, seeking all possible assistance for the next of kin of the deceased. 
Party General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, Senior leaders Mian Altaf, Khalid Najeeb Suharwardhy, Sajad Kichloo, Sajad Shaheen, Javed Rana, Aijaz Jan, and Sheikh Bashir Ahmed have also expressed anguish over the fatalities in the tragic accident, a party statement issued here said.
People's Democratic Party (PDP) president and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti while expressing grief and sorrow over the unfortunate incident asked the administration for sanctioning immediate compensation to all the family members for rehabilitation. 
Chairman Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Ghulam Nabi Azad also expressed condolence. He lauded the efforts of locals for launching an immediate rescue operation and directed the senior party leaders to supervise the rescue work, a party statement issued here said.
“DPAP Vice-Chairman G M Saroori personally monitored the situation and also visited the injured in the hospital,” the statement said. Azad urged the administration to provide all possible support and compensation to the bereaved families.
Jammu and Kashmir BJP chief Ravinder Raina said, “The loss of lives in such an unforeseen tragedy is deeply saddening. I stand in solidarity with the affected community and offer my support during this difficult time.” 
“I have had a conversation over the phone with the SSP and Deputy Commissioner of Kishtwar concerning the incident, and they have provided reassurances of extending all possible assistance to the families of the deceased. Ongoing efforts are being made to ensure the provision of necessary support and aid to the grieving family during this difficult period," Raina said.
Apni Party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari in a statement expressed profound grief over the tragic incident. “This is a heart-wrenching tragedy. My heart goes out to the surviving members of the family who lost four members in this unfortunate incident. One can imagine the agony and pain that the family members, who lost their kith and kin in this fatal incident, must be feeling at this time.”
Bukhari urged the administration to provide immediate relief to the affected family. He also demanded adequate compensation for the devastated family to alleviate their suffering and assist them in rebuilding their lives.
Apni Party vice president and former cabinet minister Choudhary Zulfkar Ali while expressing grief over the tragic incident demanded ex-gratia for the next of kin of the deceased and resettlement of the displaced family members by the civil administration.
“The Gujjars and Bakerwals are facing the loss of life and their cattle which needs to be compensated by the government adequately as they have suffered very badly. The government should come out with some policy to insure the lives of the tribal families, their cattle and livestock so that they can be provided compensation adequately,” he said.
