Eid being celebrated with religious fervor today

Rising Kashmir News
Srinagar, Nov 27:
Eid-ul-Azha, to commemorate Prophet Abrahim's (AS) submission to Allah's will, is being celebrated with religious fervor and traditional enthusiasm all over the subcontinent including Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.
Special Eid prayers would be organized in Masjids and shrines on the occasion and Islamic scholars and clerics will highlight the significance of the festivities and principle associated with it.

Prophet Abrahim (AS) was ordered to sacrifice his beloved son prophet Ismail (AS). At the last minute, when the father's blade was about to slit the son's throat, a goat from heaven replaced prophet Ismail (AS).
In Srinagar, the summer capital of the State, the biggest Eid congregations are expected at the historic Jamia Masjid and Dargah Hazratbal in city outskirts.
According to prayer calendar issued by the administrators of the historical Masjids, congregational prayers in Jamia Masjid would be held at 10:30 am while at Hazratbal, the special prayers have been scheduled at 11 am.
According to Jamiat-e-Ahli Hadees, Eid prayers would be offered at Gawkadal in uptown area at 9:15 am.  Jamiat-e-Ahli Hadees chief, Maulana Shawkat Ahmad Shah is expected to deliver a sermon at the Majid. In the recent past, Jamiat-e-Ahli Hadees used to organize prayers at the TRC ground but owning to prevailing piercing cold, the organizers decided against it, Shah said addressing a Friday gathering here.

Official sources state administration has made elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of the prayers. Public and private transport services would be available to ferry the people to and from the Masjid, they added.
Besides Srinagar, congregational prayers would be held in all major and smaller towns across the State including Islamabad, Baramulla, Sopore, Pulwama, Kupwara, Handwara, Pattan, Sumbal, Bandipore, Ganderbal, Budgam, Chrarisharif, Shopian, Bijbehara, Beerwah, Tral, Pampore, Kulgam, Jammu, Doda, Kishtwar, Bhaderwah, Poonch and Rajouri.
While as wide range of population would offer Qurbani of a goat or ram, the children would get Eidee (cash) from elders on the occasion.

We are to be destroyed physically, economically and culturally

Abdul Majid Zargar

It is said and widely believed that Kurds have no friends. If permitted, I will add word “Kashmiris” to it. And to demonstrate the ground realities correctly, I will arrange the phrase to read as “Kashmiris and Kurds have no friends”
