No change in Pak stand on Kashmir: Gillani

Asserting that his country’s principled stance on Kashmir dispute remained unchanged, Prime Minister of Pakistan Yousuf Raza Gillani Monday stressed on the early solution of the dispute according to the aspirations of the Kashmiri people was imperative for lasting peace in the region.
Gilani made the remarks during a meeting with President of Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK), Raja Zulqarnain Khan and newly-elected PaK premier Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider.

“The whole nation is united on the Kashmir issue and Pakistan wants its early resolution according to the aspirations of Kashmiri people as this is imperative for lasting peace in the region,” Gilani was quoted as saying in an official statement.
He said, “Pakistan's principled stance on Kashmir issue remains unchanged and we will continue extending political, moral and diplomatic support to the people of Kashmir”.
Referring to his recent meetings with various world leaders, Gilani said he had highlighted the Kashmir dispute and emphasised the need to resolve it.
Raja Zulqarnain Khan appreciated Prime Minister Gilani’s endevours in raising the issue of Kashmir at every forum and thanked the government and people of Pakistan for the support towards their Kashmiri brethren.
Prime Minister PaK Raja Farooq Haider also thanked the Prime Minister for his personal interest and the government of Pakistan’s active assistance for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the earthquake affected areas.
