DDC Shopian takes stock of social security, pension, insurance schemes

Shopian, Jan 08: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta, on Thursday chaired a comprehensive review meeting here at the Mini-Secretariat to assess the implementation, coverage and progress of various Social Security, Pension and Insurance Schemes being executed across the district.
According to a statement issued here, during the meeting, The DDC undertook a detailed review of beneficiary coverage, pendency of cases, verification status and inter-departmental coordination. He laid special emphasis on achieving saturation of all eligible beneficiaries and ensuring seamless, time-bound delivery of benefits under welfare schemes.
DDC directed the concerned officers to expedite disposal of pending cases, address gaps in verification and remove bottlenecks hindering smooth implementation. He also stressed strengthening awareness campaigns at the grassroots level so that maximum eligible beneficiaries are informed about the schemes.
Highlighting the importance of transparency and accountability, the DDC instructed officers to ensure regular monitoring and timely submission of updated progress reports. He called for close coordination among departments to enhance efficiency and improve service delivery. He directed to adopt a proactive, people-centric approach to ensure that the intended benefits reach all deserving sections of society without delay.
