Scrapping of Hajj subsidy to make pilgrimage cost...

Srinagar, Jan 17: The Government of India’s (GoIs) decision to scrap the subsidy on Hajj has drawn a mixed response even as the travel costs on the pilgrimage are set to escalate. The decision has triggered the demands for abolishing the sops to Amarnath pilgrims as well. The intending pilgrims from state will have to bear extra fare even as private Hajj operators see scrapping of subsidy as a positive move.
